We are making progress to resolve Radio Gold, XYZ etc shut down - ABA Fuseini

Ranking member on Communications, Alhassan  Bashir  A. Fuseini has said the committee is making progress with regards to resolving the issue of the closing down of some private radio stations.

Some months ago the National Communications Authority (NCA) closed down private radio stations Radio Gold and XYZ in Accra, and went on to carry out similar exercise in other regions, on the issue of renewal of licenses.

According to the Ranking member of the committee they have met the National Communications Authority (NCA) and yet to meet the Communications Ministry and the affected radio stations.

In an interview as to whether the affected radio stations would be back before the end of the year, he responded and said he does not want to prejudge the whole process, “I can tell you significant progress has been made”.

Mr. A. B. A Fuseini further revealed that he believes things would go on well since there is good will on both side of House to bring the matter to a logical conclusion.

He believes that in a democracy, political parties should make room for divergent opinion on governance.
