The Member of Parliament for Akim Swedru constituency, Hon. Joseph Ampomah Bosompem was born on 29th June, 1957, a few months after Ghana marked its independence in Akim Swedru.


He obtained a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Manchester Business School (University of Manchester) in 2004. He holds a certificate in Assets Management from the Columbia University, USA, which he obtained in 1996.In 1994; he studied in the University of Strathclyde Business School (UK) and graduated with a certificate in Public Finance Management Practice in Central and Local government. Prior to this, he studied at the Instituted of Professional Studies and Self tuition (IPS) for his ACCA in 1990.
Mr. Bosompem attended the Akim Swedru Secondary School and the Ofori Panin Secondary School respectively for his G.C.E Ordinary Level and Advanced level and graduated in 1979.


Integrated Intellect Limited is being managed by Hon. Joseph Ampomah Bosompem since 2004 as a Freelance Consultant /Lecturer and C.E.O. Between 2006 and 2008,thus over a period of two years he acted as the Deputy Commissioner  of the Valued Added Tax Services(VAT) in Ghana. He worked for a year (2001/02) at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning on the Government of Ghana Counterpart on the Public Expenditure and Debt Management project.

For ten years, thus 1991 to 2001, he served the nation at the Controller and Accountants General Department and worked as the Regional Director for the Ashanti region, the director budget and stores, chief treasury officer- final account and fuel.

Between 1989 and 1991, he worked as the Finance manager for Polymers Industries Limited, likewise displaced his expertise at Deloitte & Touché in 1987 – 89. Joseph Ampomah Bosompem was an accounts supervisor at the Agric Mechanisation Limited for four years (1983-87). He started working as an Accounts Officer at the University of Ghana in 1983.


He has served on various committees and currently serving on the Sports , Youth and Culture , Special budget  and government assurance committees.

Vision for Akim Swedru Constituency

To make Akim Swedru Constituency an independent constituency where each individual is able to maximize his/her inherent potential as well as ensuring that the constituency gets its share of the “national cake.”
Votes obtained in the last elections was 19,314 votes out of the 30,389 valid votes cast = 63.6%

Marriage and Religion

The Hon. MP is married with six children and a christian who is fellowships with the Presbytarian church.
